Focus Awards Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (RQF)

Learners should be competent in literacy and numeracy to help with elements of communication. All trainee teachers joining this qualification programme will undertake an initial assessment of skills in English, mathematics and ICT.

 

To sucessfully complete this course you must be in a placement so you can complete the practical element of this course of 100 teaching hours and 8 practical observations.  you must also have access to a mentor who has a professional teaching qualification and two years or more teaching experience

Each learner is required to create portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and the assessment criteria associated with each unit. The main pieces of evidence for the portfolio could include:

• Assessor observation – completed observational checklists on related action plans

• Assignments / projects / reports

• Record of oral and written questioning
