Protecting the Eye Area
It is important that you avoid applying pressure over the eyeball when carrying out your routine facial. Did you know that most of our facial muscles are actually attached to the skin itself, unlike the muscles of the body which are attached to bone. This is the reason we have facial expressions and create little creases (dynamic Wrinkles) on our skin when we raise our brows, frown, smile as well as make other expressions.
The skin around the eye area is extremely delicate, and applying pressure in this area can stretch the skin unnecessarily. because the skin is attached to the muscle; you may also stretch the facial muscle. this could contribute to premature ageing.
You should use your ring finger when applying products including cleansers, lotions and potions around the eye area; as it provides the least pressure.
